Travel cheap, socialize better

By

As you want to spare your money, you must be staying in hostels. This is also a way to make new friends, but there are a few basic rules:

1. The other ones are also travellers, as you are. You have same experiences and same interests! Give them informations and advices, if you can and have better than they do.

2. Hide your stinking socks, you also do not need and want to smell someones else socks!

3. Leave your maps and journey books  at sight, and leave them in the hostel if you dont need anymore.

4.Do not stay very long in the front of the hostel computer . Everybody needs it for urgent matters, e.g. planning, reservation etc

5. Do not stay very long in the bathroom.

6. Do not try to pick other traveller girlfriend. Take informations in advance.

Avantgarde architecture

By

You must travel a lot, as I do. Including big cities, or even megacities. Every one has something special, that only a trained visitor can feel and understand. Besides, every city has something special in the architecture, trying to be different from the other cities.

Beijing is no exception on this rule, and you can also see in Beijing some extravagant architecture. May be you will be in Beijing on the Olympic Games! Do not miss the occasion to admire this building, and to tell me about it or other Beijing buildings.

Which is in your opinion other avantgarde city? Maybe the new younger capitals, as Karachi or Brasil?

Worlds largest aquarium

By

berlin-worlds-largest-aquarium2.jpg

Supposing, just supposing , you are in Berlin for  a short time. You are a fan of marine life, or you simply are very fond of it, and you would like to see an aquarium. My suggestion is not to try finding an aquarium, if is any in that city. You simply have to go to the Radisson Hotel and take the elevator. It is a glass elevator, moving inside another glass cylinder, which is actually the aquarium. It is really quiet and peacefull in that elevator, zou will be impressed. It is the worlds biggest aquarium, where many marine plants and animals found their natural habitat. Some proffesional divers to the cleaning every day.

Tell me your impressions about it!

L.A.

By

You guessed, it is Los Angeles.  150 years ago it counted 100 000 inhabitants.

The city was grounded by mexicans in 1781, and passed to the USA in 1850, when was not bigger than a village/ 2000 inhabitants.

Los Angeles means Angels. The insiders are Angelinos. And they are happy to drive with a tempo of 30 km/h in the rush hours, because the car is a social symbol in this city!

There are also today many mexicans and hispanics in the city, and also blacks! Remember the racist troubles from 1992 when juries found unguilty four white policemen who killed a nigger.

L.A. comprizes in its metropolitan area 20 000 000 inhabitants. A mega city indeed. Noticeable to this mega city-poverty is not so wide spread like in the third world. A half of the city consists on one family houses. The result is a huge surface occupied by the city. 200px-losangeles02.jpg

Jakarta

By

jakartacentre.jpg

Dear friends, this is the very centre of Jakarta . Many office buildings, skyscrappers, luxury hotels, intensive night life. Not far are the suburbs, slums, homeless sleeping on the streets- a city of contrasts, as so many other megacity. But here you can find also Bandalai hotel, as many other leading hotels. You can have a lot of fun during night.

Jakarta is not to visit in the mansoon time! Then, due to heavy rains, many chanels go out and you can imagine the result! Or even smelling!

Jakarta, a mega city on its own

By

jakarta.jpg

Indonesia is the most populated islamic country on the Earth, and deserved a capital of the same huge proportions. This is Jakarta. Jakarta counts in the main city 8000000 inhabitants; with suburbs 18000000 inhabitants. Soon, by swallowing other near cities will be born a giant city of 45 000 000 inhabitants.

1880 jakarta was under Dutch occupation, and counted 100 000 inhabitants. It was a dirty stinky town, specially in the mansoon time, when all chanels gone out.

Today this city is also not very clean, and growed without any systematization and planning. The mansoon still causes inundations , which affects more than 3/4 of the city. There are no trams, buses, underground, a huge city with no arterials.

The air and water pollution is very serious. But the people still come as attracted by a magnet in this city, which gives nevertheless better chances to live like the indonesian villages.

If you have 10 Dollars

By

I can give you an advise: if you are in New York, and have 10 $ to spend go and visit Ground Zero. You will have the unique oppotunity to hear eye witnesses and rescuerers. And you will have also the unique opportunity to think to the essence and future of the human creatures, faithful and fanatism, violence, hate and revenge. Above all: understanding and tolerate people of other beliefs. I have nothing against muslims, only because of some fanatic people. And I hope you feel the same way. If so, we are all saved!
