Oktoberfest 2008 from Munich and Bavaria is the world’s biggest popular celebration and is as usually overcrowded. The liter beer costs 8,3 Euro at Oktoberfest 2008. Some of the foreigners coming to Oktoberfest 2008 are happy about it (French and Italians), some not (Aussies), depending of the beer price in their country.

Nevertheless, they come every year, tasting the beer and the delicious Wuerstchen! Everybody is celebrating, only in the Carnival of Rio you can find a similar atmosphere.

Oktoberfest has a respectable tradition, one hundred years. It is a good occasion for the Germans to wear their traditional suits, Dirndl for the women ( very sexy) and Lederhose for the man. The beer flows to Oktoberfest 2008, it is an unforgettable show. People drink, make parties and take a rest, in order to start next day from zero again.

News about long flights

Long flights are not environmental friendly, even on the contrary. Nevertheless, many people still fly, whether for touristsm, or for business.

How could we replace the long flights? For distances under 2000 km inside a continent we have some alternatives: travelling by car, or travelling by train. Nice, but not very relaxing, it lasts between 10 and 20 hours unfortunately. For longer intercontinental journeys is even worse for the competition, you can easily understand why.

It is very nice, interesting and even exciting to fly!

If you must fly, stay where the plane leads you at least for a week. Otherwise, it is pity for the ozone of our planet.

And supposing that someone found the magic solution for eliminating the flights. What would happen to the people working in the branch ( pilots, mechanics, ground personnel, flight attendants etc) ? No more flight attendant jobs for the rebel teenagers girls that wish to go far from home? I am sure, that the people serving on a long distance jet have something very special, they must be tough, strong, reliable, perfect teamplayers.

Cruise around Italy

Italy to Greece cruiseItaly is a beautiful country full of history, stunning landscapes and passionate people, and with over 4,000 miles of coastland one of the most relaxing and enjoyable ways of seeing the country is with a Italian Cruise.

Most Italian cruises depart from one of the several major ports in Italy itself such as Civitavecchia in Rome, so you will need to fly out from the UK first before you can board. If you want to go on one of the longer cruise coast to coats cruises you may be restricted to departing from ports like Genoa on the Ligurian Peninsula.

A typical cruise will combine a mixture of culture and outstanding scenery and will give you the opportunity to visit some of the Italy’s beautiful little coastal villages and towns that are far from the main tourist routes. Most of Italy is a mixture of stunning sandy beaches and rocky headlands, and you will also be able to visit some of the beautiful islands such as Elba, Sardinia, and the Aeolian islands.Silver whisper cruise liner - Venice, Italy

Christmas 2008 is getting close

We still have 2 months from the running year. Is it much or not, you should try to think and to plan your Christmas 2008.

Christmas 2008 is no more to celebrate with the family only. It is a wonderful occasion to leave somewhere. Choosing the right destination is the most important thing for Christmas 2008. It is the Birth of Jesus Christ, a wonderful occasion for joy. I think you should choose the right destination thinking on the possibility to feel this joy and this spirit, and thinking less to the budget.

You should think to the opportunity to attend a divine service in a church, which should not be necessary belonging to your religion. If you can ressent the joy, and the spirit, you are saved, you are much richer. Otherwise, Christmas 2008 will be too dried and commercial. I am often asking myself, if we are waiting the Christmas presents or the Birth of Jesus!

I am proposing to you the following spiritual destinations for Christmas 2008, hoping to meet the right ones.

1. Greece and its beautiful islands.

2.Poiana Brasov, Romania. I would mention mainly the Hotel Orizont.

3.Oslo, which is very close to nature, mainly in winter.

A strategy for green tourism

By

I think, all of us are aware now, that noone can say I have nothing to do with climate change. Whether tourist, or not, we are all very enquired and very puzzled. What can we do against, how shall we act.

A solution is represented by are the National Parks. The oldest  are 100 years old. During the last years in Europe appeared a NGO called Europarcs, aiming to promote the protected areas and helping the administration of the National Parcs to improve their management.

The idea is brillant, and is exactly what we need world wide. Europarc was supported by the EU and also by private donations, and its activity was very succesful.

Europarc organized its last General Assembly in Poiana Brasov, Romania. Maybe because Romania is still sheltering many wild animals as wolves, bears etc, which are already extincted in the rest of our continent. Maybe Europe must learn a lot of things from Romania!

How To Enjoy A River Amazon Cruise

More people than ever are taking advantage of the popular “fly out – cruise – fly back” package deals that are proliferating the travel industry. A cruise is no longer confined to the super-rich, but falling more and more into the income bracket of ordinary working people. This is for two reasons, the first of which is the competition amongst the air carriers that has resulted in lower cost fares, and the ease of obtaining deferred payments through the travel agent.

With this increase in cruise popularity comes the choice of more destinations and a change from a sea cruise to a river cruise can be a real uplifting and enjoyable experience. Why not cruise the historic rivers and canals of Europe and lap up the cultural atmosphere of bygone ages? Better still, why not get closer to nature and take a cruise on the river Amazon? Spend a night in a first class hotel when you arrive in Brazil !
