Being a proud owner of Acer’s laptop I’m glad to spread the word that Acer has just added 3 new members to its Gemstone Family code name Aspire AS5536, Aspire AS7735Z and Aspire AS5739G. The company reveals that all notebooks come with a 16:9 widescreen, Dolby surround sound audio and a sapphire design known as Gemstone Blue.

As proven by our latest Aspire notebooks, we recognize that value-based mobile PCs need to offer appealing aesthetics as well as great performance and multimedia capabilities.”

Seems like Acer is on fire this month. They have yet announced another launch of its new and first Nvidia Ion based nettop known as the Aspire Revo. For those of you who dont know what exactly a Nettop is, here’s a brief definition of it. It is a type of mini desktop or small form factor computer designed for performing basic computation tasks such as surfing the Internet, accessing web-based applications and rich internet applications, document processing and audio/video playback etc. It’s more like a portable computer that you can carry around with you on your trip.

The Atom seems to have outgrown its earlier ‘minor’ status and has now become a major computing support for the netbook platform, which was interestingly non-existent just over a year ago. The new Aspire Revo is a feasible opton for anyone who is on the look out for a reasonably powerful machine which really doesn’t cost much.
Acer has announced the new Aspire timeline series notebook PC. The new Acer Aspire Timeline series mark the beginning of a new era in mobile computing, an era when you have more time to get things done, stay connected and enjoy entertainment.
Acer’s new notebooks are available in 13.3-inch (3810T), 14-inch (4810T) and 15.6-inch (5810T) models. One of the biggest attractive is the size of this machine. It measure as thin as 24mm and weighs as low as 1.6kg. I don’t know if we can compare it with the Mac book but it really is a beauty.

The Aspire Timeline is equipped with Intel’s ULV Core 2 Duo Su9400/ Core 2 Solo SU3500 processor and offers a Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card. It features up to 8GB of DDR3 ram and about 500GB hard drive or 80GB SSD storage. They have built-in WiFi and WiMAX connectivity, and 3G/HSDPA is available as an option. According to Acer the new Aspire Timeline series consumes 33% less energy compare to typical notebooks saving you 1,752 watt per year.
