This is reflects a 50% increase compared to the hotel rates last year.
The booking website HRS conducted the survey and attributed the sharp increase to the strong economy of Brazil with improved infrastructure as the country will host the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics by 2016. The carnival this year also had a record number of attendees.
