The Hunger Games is the screen adaptation of the dystopian novel of Suzanne Collins and was shot in the in different sites and soundstages in the western portion of the state. The film has created a loud buzz in social media and is expected to become a blockbuster rivaling the success of the Twilight Series.

The story revolves around Katniss Everdeen who takes the place of her younger sister for the televised death match in the post apocalyptic setting where the powerful influences from The Capitol controls everything.

The craving for more Harry Potter is fast climbing the charts both in the US and across the pond. The United States has its Wizardly World of Harry Potter which opened last year. In the United Kingdom, they are preparing a big museum entirely devoted to everything Harry Potter and it is being built in the studio in which the film was done. The movie is not showing until December this year, but New Zealand is gearing up for the influx of fans who want to see and experience what is it like to be in the village of the hobbits. The Hobbiton is just one among thirty movie travel destinations that feature locations used for The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

Tourists who will visit the Hobbiton Movie Set will be immersed in the actual hobbit environment. If you decide to visit, you will see the Green Dragon Inn, Hobbit holes, the Mill, and other Hobbiton structures and surroundings used for the upcoming movie.

The Hobbiton will be open to tours and people who may want to celebrate special moments of their lives there like a birthday or a getting married. The set tours starts at NZ $66 per adult.


Movie travel: Iron Man 3 starts filming in Wilmington, NC

The Avengers have made a lot of money in the box office and one of its members is going all out on it with Iron Man heading to Wilmington in North Carolina to film the third installment of the Marvel mega movie franchise.

The star of the film, Robert Downey Jr. has been seen going around town.

Most of the scenes will be shot at the EUE Screen Gems Studios. There is a quite a buzz though that the set will be at Cape Fear Club along Chestnut Street this coming May 29 to film on location.

The residents of North Carolina will also have a great opportunity to appear as extras for the film. The production people for the third Iron Man offering, billed as Caged, has put up a Facebook page where interested locals can learn more about the possible on screen appearance.
