MSI Notebook currently has 7 serious notebooks in its product portfolio, including the Gaming Series, Aesthetics Series, Professional Series, Entertainment Series, Ultra Portable Series, X-Slim Series and Classic Series. I earlier wrote about the MSI first laptop that featured a Intel CULV platform. According to MSI it is the world’s first ultra thin and light weight notebook that will be equipped with Intel’s CULV platform that weighs at only 1.3 kg and 19.88mm at its thickest pount.
Currently they are working on their latest X-Slim X400 and X600 ultra slim notebook PC that are powered by Intel’s Core 2 Solo CULV processor.
MSI X-Slim X400

Their LCD displays features LED-backlit and 16:9 aspect ratio. Both notebooks X400 (14-inch) and X600 (15-inch) are less than 1 inch thick and weighs just 1.5kg and 2.1kg respectively and offers a super slender Li-poly battery.
Acer has announced the new Aspire timeline series notebook PC. The new Acer Aspire Timeline series mark the beginning of a new era in mobile computing, an era when you have more time to get things done, stay connected and enjoy entertainment.
Acer’s new notebooks are available in 13.3-inch (3810T), 14-inch (4810T) and 15.6-inch (5810T) models. One of the biggest attractive is the size of this machine. It measure as thin as 24mm and weighs as low as 1.6kg. I don’t know if we can compare it with the Mac book but it really is a beauty.

The Aspire Timeline is equipped with Intel’s ULV Core 2 Duo Su9400/ Core 2 Solo SU3500 processor and offers a Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card. It features up to 8GB of DDR3 ram and about 500GB hard drive or 80GB SSD storage. The Timeline series has Acer CineCrystal LED backlit display with 1366×768 resolution, webcam, and Dolby Sound Room and FineTip keyboard. They have built-in WiFi and WiMAX connectivity, and 3G/HSDPA is available as an option. According to Acer the new Aspire Timeline series consumes 33% less energy compare to typical notebooks saving you 1,752 watt per year.
