Seattle, Washington is a popular vacation destination for many reasons. It’s chilly but pleasant climate is attractive to outdoors enthusiast, and it’s thriving downtown is a favorite of shoppers and tourists. There are many things to do an see in this beautiful city, but below you will find some of the most popular attractions.

1. Pike Place Market

For those who don’t know, Pike Place Market is a huge marketplace, similar to a farmers market. You can find fresh food, collectibles, and just about anything else there. Plus, the market itself as well as the surrounding area is very beautiful, so it’s a good place to go just to sight see.

2. The Space Needle

The Space Needle is known by most Americans, and even many foreigners, as the symbol of Seattle. Though you can see the needle from almost anywhere in the city, a trip to Seattle would not be complete without a vist to the legendary Space Needle. You can simply go to look and marvel at the amazing structure, or, for a price, you can go up in the elevators. If you happen to be hungry, there is a very good restaurant at the top of the needle. Just be sure to make a reservation as space is usually limited.

3. Experience Music Project

Experience Music Project, or EMP, is a music museum known nationwide. Though admission is fairly expensive, the experience is well worth the pricetag. The things you will see at EMP are hard to explain, but suffice it to say that if you like music, you will like EMP.

4. Safeco Field

Safeco Field, which is home of the Seattle Mariners, is a popular destination for baseball fanatics. Whether you like baseball or not, going to a Mariners game is a fun, bonding experience, especially if you bring your family along. Just be sure to bring enough cash, as food and drinks in the stadium are far from cheap.

For baseball fans all around the world, the Baseball Hall of Fame, located in Cooperstown, New York, is the perfect vacation destination. At the Hall you can learn all about the greatest baseball players of all time, and see priceless and rare items that are not available anywhere else. The Hall is more than just a display of the greatest players of the sport – it’s also the largest baseball museum in the world.

Founded in June, 1939 by Lee Ferrick Andrews, the Hall of Fame has been honoring excellent players and managers for more than 70 years. The hall of fame has become so well-known that the term “Cooperstown”, which is actually a town in the state of New York, has become a metonym for the Hall. Every year, hundreds of thousands of people visit the Baseball Hall of Fame, and because of this, tourism in Cooperstown is booming.

Because of the hall of fame, the area surrounding Cooperstown has become rather tourist-friendly. There are a lot of hotels, restaurants, and shops that appeal to tourists and locals alike. Of course the prices are slightly higher than normal, but compared to other vacation destinations, a trip to Cooperstown would be quite affordable. Though there are other things to do in Cooperstown, the Hall is by far the main attraction. If you truly love baseball, you could get lost in the Hall of Fame for days on end – especially since there are 3 floors packed full of fascinating information, artifacts, and collectibles.

So if you love baseball, come join the 350,000+ visitors a year, and bring the family down to Cooperstown for a vacation. It’s an affordable, fun alternative to typical family vacations, and it can be an experience you will never forget.

Angel Fire New Mexico is a small town but a hugely popular ski resort destination. The actual population of Angel Fire is around 1,000 but thousands more visit every winter to take on the beautiful ski slopes that reach 10,000+ feet in height. Lodging and skiing at Angel Fire is a family tradition for many in the South West, but ski enthusiasts from around the world visit every year.

Deep canyons and crystal clear sunny skies make Angel Fire a breathtakingly beautiful place to visit. The soft blankets of snow also make fantastic ski slopes and snowboarding slopes. There are a number of other activities in the area as well, if you prefer not to ski. Also, you never need to worry about being an amateur because there are plenty of teachers willing to teach beginners how to ski like an expert!

Where to Eat in Angel Fire

Since Angel Fire is a small town you won’t be able to jaunt over to the next huge city too quickly for a bite to eat. There are plenty of delectable little restaurants in the area though, such as Country Club Restaurant, Sand Wedge, Country Club Bar & Grill, a bakery, and a few other hometown favorites. The resort hotel also has a restaurant inside if you prefer not to eat away from the hotel.

Essentials

Angel Fire is small but it does have everything you need to be healthy and safe during your vacation. The great thing is that there are minimal distractions to keep you from relaxing!

Shopping

There are plenty of little shops in Angel Fire, New Mexico to keep you stocked for your holiday vacation. If you forget something, one of the shops is guaranteed to have it! Even if you forgot your beloved ski shoes, there is a ski shop in town to meet your needs.

When to Visit

Anytime is a great time to visit Angel Fire, but there are many festivals that are held throughout the year. If you want to catch them you should check their website to stay up to date on the Hot Air Balloon festival held there yearly, as well as a Chamber Music Festival. Traveling in the summer presents many wonderful opportunities and may be preferred by those who don’t like snow!

Unique Things to Try

One of the most unique things that Angel Fire offers is Night Skiing. Since the sun sets here so early skiers often miss out on plenty of precious ski hours. Now you can ski in the middle of the night! Don’t worry its safe!

You can also go tubing at Angel Fire, which is basically like sledding down a huge slope for hundreds of feet! This can also be done during the night hours, so there is plenty of entertainment to be had even after dark.

Angel Fire is definitely a unique and fun place to visit. Best of all, its pretty cheap for any visitor!

Whether you enjoy shopping normally or not, shopping at some of the legendary destinations in the US can be quite exciting and fun. Of course in order to properly shop you have to have a fair amount of money to spend, but window shopping can be fun as well. If you’re looking for a fresh new kind of vacation, consider the destinations below:

1. Mall of America, Minneapolis

Almost everyone has heard of the Mall of America, but many people have yet to experience it. This 520+ store behemoth is the grand-daddy of all shopping malls. Literally everything you could possibly think of is available for sale at the Mall of America. Obviously due to the massive tourism industry surrounding the Mall, prices are fairly high. However, for most people, the experience is well worth the price. If you can’t afford to drop much money, visiting the Mall of America can still be very fun, even if you only go for a day. There are so many activities and things to see that you will find it hard to get bored.

2. Madison Avenue, NYC

Though there are many hot places to shop in the NYC, some of the most legendary and prestigious stores are headquartered on Madison Avenue. Many of the worlds best designers, such as Dior, Armani, Prada, Ralph Lauren, and others have stores on this well-known street. If you do go to New York, be sure to check out Fifth Ave as well, where you will find Tifanny’s, Saks, and other must-see stores.

3. Las Vegas, Nevada

Though Las Vegas is known primarily for it’s gambling, there are a lot of shopping destinations near the Strip. This is mainly because when people win money they want to spend it, so high-end stores locate themselves as close to casinos as possible. Visit Las Vegas to see legendary stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstroms, and much, much more. Whether you’re a gambler or not, shopping in Vegas can be very enjoyable.

If you’re looking for an exotic, new kind of vacation, consider visiting beautiful Amsterdam. Located in North Holland, this capital city of the Netherlands is the only place on earth where cannabis, or marijuana, is not only legal – it’s sold in coffee shops.

Tourists and locals enjoy their day at The Green House, a cannabis cafe in downtown Amsterdam

Virtually everywhere you go in Amsterdam you will see what locals and tourists call “Cannabis Cafe’s”. These coffee shops serve all the usuals – mocha’s, latte’s, americano’s, and one unique product – marijuana. You can buy it in many forms, including joints, baked goods, or just in its natural state. Whether you’ve smoked marijuana before or not, Amsterdam can be a very exciting place to visit.

Contrary to popular opinion, legal marijuana is not the only reason to visit Amsterdam. The city is the capital of the Netherlands, and one of the largest cities in Europe. Tourism is booming in the Amsterdamn area (there were over 3.6 million foreign visitors in 2009 alone), so there is a lot of funding going towards the improvement of the town and surrounding areas. This means that you, the tourist, get to enjoy all the sights, smells, and tastes of this wonderful city, whether you choose to indulge in cannabis or not.

Regardless of your stance on marijuana consumption, there is no arguing that Amsterdam is a beautiful, fun city. There are so many sights too see and places to visit that you could literally spend a week just wandering around, and still be far from seeing everything interesting. In fact, Amsterdam is widely considered to be one of the most scenic places in Europe by many people.

Visiting The Great Pyramids of Egypt

Touted as one of the great ancient wonders of the world, the pyramids of Egypt represent the only wonder still standing. Originally completed in 2560bc, the size and scope of these pyramids make them a must-see travel destination. If you’re looking to visit the pyramids, here are some tips:

The pyramids attract thousands of visitors every year, so it’s best to get there as early in the morning as possible. It’s actually mandatory if you want to go inside the pyramids! It costs about 80 Egyptian pounds to enter the Giza plateau, and another 150 or so to enter one of the pyramids. However, to preserve the pyramids, they limit the number of tickets sold to 150 in the morning and 150 in the afternoon. Another recent change is tour guides are not allowed to purchase tickets for their group, instead all tourists must buy individual tickets at the ticketing center.

While you may want to believe that the walls of the pyramids are lined with ancient writing and art, the reality is quite the opposite. Upon entering the pyramids, one thing is for certain: they were not designed for tourism. The ceilings are low, some of the paths are downright treacherous, and temperatures in the summers can exceed 100 degrees! The inside of the pyramids are not for the weak of heart.

Since the pyramids are Egypt’s biggest attraction, they attract thousands of tourists every day during peak travel season. If the pyramids are too crowded, be sure to check out the sphinx as well. There is no additional charge to visit the sphinx. It is here that you will find the cafe to quench your mid afternoon hunger. It’s also where they have nightly shows, where lights will illuminate the pyramids and tell a bit of history in many different languages.

If you’re looking for a new experience, try touring the pyramids on horseback. While not as “authentic” as a camel, westerners often enjoy the horse ride more than the camel ride. They also don’t spit, and aren’t quite as moody as camels. Not only that, but if you have a horse you can stay on the Giza plateau after it closes! Book a rental at Nazlat el Samman, just south of Giza. Remember, agree to a price FIRST and haggle aggressively! If you decide to walk around the pyramids though, be prepared! It’s hot, so wear plenty of sunscreen, drink tons of water, and wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Egypt is a destination location because of it’s rich history, amazing antiquities, and incredible landmarks. The most recognizable of the landmarks, the great pyramids are one of those sights that have to be seen to be truly appreciated.

Surfing is a very popular sport these days, and there are several “legendary” locations that surfurs gather. There are certain areas that, for whatever reason, are just better for surfing, and an entire industry has been built around these legendary beaches. If you’re a surfing fanatic and would like to surf with the pros, check out the list of destinations below:

1. Waikiki, Hawaii

Wiakiki has been ranked the top surfing beach in the world by several different respected authorities, and for good reason. Located in Honalulu, Hawaii, Waikiki is almost always sunny and warm, and there is a fairly large town surrounding the beach. The waves at Waikiki have consistanty reached heights of over 20 feet, and there’s no shortage of rideable waves. Waikiki is unique in that it has areas suited for both pros and amatuers. New surfers can learn the ropes in Canoes, while experienced surfurs can rip it up at Queens.

2. Buzios, Brazil

To the inexperienced eye, Buzios looks like just another small fishing town. However, if you visit the town, you will discover that there are over 20 beaches that you can surf almost every day. While the weather and water at Buzios is generally milder than most other surfing destinations, waves there reach up to 8 feet. Plus, with so many beaches to surf, you will find it hard to ever grow bored.

3. Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa

For hardcore surfing fans, there is probably no better place to be than Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa. As the location of the popular Billabong Surfing Festival, Jeffrey’s Bay attracts surfers from all over the world. The waves are not quite as extreme as surfing spots in Hawaii or Florida, but waves still reach up to 8 feet. Non-surfer be warned: there is VERY little to do in Jeffrey’s Bay if you don’t surf!

If you are in the mood to taste some wine, appreciate the colors of the leaves, or if you just want to enjoy the life in the city then you will love the list that we prepared for you below.

Have a great holiday in some of the best urban centers, wineries, national parks, and orchards. Here are our top picks for the top destinations this season:

Florence, Italy
Florence is the center of the renaissance movement in Italy. It served as the birthplace of what we know today as modern politics. Florence was also considered by the great artist Michelangelo as his adopted hometown. There is a lot more to discover when you travel to Florence Italy.

Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina, Tennessee

The Great Smoky Mountain undoubtedly is a great sight any time of the year but if you want to catch the spectacular colors of the trees in crimson, purples, and oranges then visit during autumn.

Marrakesh, Morocco
Marrakesh, popularly called as the Red City, provides an exotic and enticing get away. Fall is a perfect time to have a Marrakesh holiday since the temperature is just right and the market is overflowing with the best produce from the slopes of the Atlas Mountains.

Napa Valley, California
Head into the vineyards of Napa Valley California during fall and you will be right in time for the harvest. The region is the biggest producer of good wines in the United States and a lot of wine lovers flock to this sunny state to sample vintages.
New York

An autumn in New York may sound too Hollywood. It may be since you have heard the line in movies and songs. Ask anyone from New York and they will tell you why it is the best season to be in the city.

Provence, Southern France
Tourists may be leaving the Provencal Region when summer ends. Locals know that the best is yet to come as fall begins when the rust French houses still remain surrounded by the wonderful colors of the fields. The picturesque country roads will lead you to the vineyards which create the best French wines.
Shanghai

This big city in China is very crowded during the summer. Off peak travelers can enjoy the city while the colder breeze of November blows.

Whether you’re a novice skier or an expert, a good ski trip can be one of the best experiences of your life. For more than a hundred years, people have been traveling all over the world, just to ski or snowboard. If you are planning a trip and enjoy skiing, check out the best ski destinations in America below.

1. Aspen, Colorado

Aspen has always been a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts, and for good reason. Located in central Colorado, Aspen has several ski resorts to choose from. While none of them are exactly “cheap”, there is enough variety in Aspen that you can have a good time there on virtually any budget. Of course since it is a major tourist attraction, resorts in the Aspen area will almost always be busy, especially at the prime of the ski season. If you’re looking to save some money and/or avoid the crowds, then going on the offseason or near the end of the season is advisable.

2. Stowe, Vermont

For quite some time now, Stowe has been considered one of the best ski resorts in not only America, but the whole world. Stowe boasts not only some of the steepest and most advanced slopes in the world, but also some of the most scenic and beautiful views. The panoramic surroundings make Stowe the ideal destination for both hardcore skiers and tourists alike. Also, with over 90 shops and 60 restaurants, Stowe, Vermont is truly the ideal vacation destination.

3. Vail, Colorado

Though slightly lesser-known than Aspen, Vail is a very popular destination for US vacationers. Vail is the largest single ski area in the United States, boasting more than 5,300 acres of skiable terrain. On top of all that, scenic views and other great tourist attractions make Vail great all around.

Unfortunately, many of the traditional tourist destinations developed themselves to turning plates of the international crime. It is not your goal to interfere with that, I am sure. You only wish to visit a nice city, its museums, having contact with locals. But you need to stay alert, because the pocket thieves can ruin your vacations! The basic rules to avoid that are very simple and very well known by you, as by any other tourist. But in some places you must take extra care! Most of them are in Europe, as Europe is still the favorite target for many tourists coming from the all world. But some interesting and recommended locations are competing with this fame of the old continent!

So, these are in my opinion some dangerous places:

1.Hanoi. In such an exciting city with a well preserved colonial center and 600 temples there are also some pocket thieves waiting for you.

Hanoi is not everywhere so peaceful

2.Buenos Aires. The Argentina capital is a very active city with many locals and tourists. Don’t assume that all portenos have the best intentions. There is even a very well known trick that you should try to avoid: one people you can’t see throws something on your coat, and another one comes to help you removing the matter ( which they say to be guano). During that minute you must observe your helper very carefully, or otherwise he will remove also your wallet!

Buenos Aires is an amazing city and has some dark sides you should be aware of

3.Rome. Visit Fontana di Trevi and be mesmerized by its secret charms, but don’t forget the common sense and the care for your belongings.

Fontana di Trevi in Rome

4.Paris. Or the City of Light, or the City of Love, is a magnetic city for people all over the world. La Basilique de Sacre Coeur, and the tube are the most dangerous places.

La Basilique de Sacre Coeur in Paris

5.Florence is waiting for you with some wonderful medieval works, and also with the breathtaking Piazza della Signoria. Which is usually overcrowded, and not all the people have the cleanest thoughts.

Uffizzi Galeries in Florence

6.Athens, and its wonderful museums lying mainly in open air (e.g. Parthenon) are very interesting, even exciting. This can make you forget the usually safety measures.

The Parthenon in Athens

7.Amsterdam has a peaceful flair, and the people seem to be very friendly. Of course, with some exceptions!

Historic houses in Amsterdam

8.Madrid has many museums (e.g. El Prado) and an interesting shopping area, El Rastro. In these places you must be specially careful.

Museo Del Prado in Madrid

9.Prague. Most of the tourists go to the medieval Bridge of Carol. But this is also where the pocket thieves go!

Carol Bridge in Prague

10.Barcelona with its wonderful walking area Las Ramblas are surely worthing a visit. But on Las Ramblas you must stay very alert!

Sagrada Familia in Barcelona

All above is meant only as a normal warning. It should not mean to avoid these travel destinations, which are above the best worldwide. You only should try to stay alert in the cities and places I remembered. Thus you can avoid ruining your vacations and keeping the same good impressions about the selected destination.
