It’s getting more and more popular to travel abroad for healthcare. Whilst traditionally for many it’s been a major taboo, the reality is that it’s sometimes cheaper and also a great deal safer to travel abroad for health care.

Medical tourism is actually big business for many countries you wouldn’t really think of. Thailand, Panama, Malaysia and India are among the most affordable and well known destinations in the world when it comes to medical tourism thanks to the level of luxury that can be afforded to patients that are on a relative budget. It’s a lot easier to suffer in luxury than it is in a state-ran hospital!

Often for a mere few thousand dollars which in some cases can be insurance deductible, you can get top grade international standard care abroad. This has resulted in a boom in the medical tourism industry and as more and more people go private, more and more people find out that it really is safer, more comfortable and far less stressful.

To make things easier, PJ Hayman a popular insurance underwriter in the United Kingdom has just created an insurance package aimed to dispel all your worries about travelling abroad for surgery by providing comprehensive cover in case of complications and also an emergency helpline available 24 hours a day.

Thanks to the general level of high quality healthcare available for free in the United Kingdom, British citizens have always been reluctant to travel abroad for private surgery, but as MRSA gets worse and waiting lists get longer, for many it is the only option.

Typical Private Hospital Room

These days, the typical cost of private healthcare abroad varies substantially, but typically prices start from around $2000 dollars for minor cosmetic surgery and increase. In some countries major operations such as a cardiac bypass only costs around $6,000. This includes top quality health care, quick treatment and complete peace of mind.

Cosmetic surgery and dentistry abroad is really budget friendly. Thanks to the affordable rates offered abroad, you can have the ultimate holiday in a faraway destination, and at the same time take care of the root canal!

Once you’ve tried foreign healthcare, there’s no going back!

There is nothing as great as taking a trip, whether it’s for vacation, the holidays, or just a business trip that will get you into a new city for awhile to have a taste of life away from home. Millions of people travel every year, and yet, only a small fraction seems to prepare for the worst. Lost luggage, injury, stolen possessions, even hotel fires are always a possibility, even if the statistics say you could very well be fine. But isn’t it better to be safe then sorry?

Buying travel insurance is an easy, affordable way of being prepared for anything as you set out to take that all important trip, and it can make any bit of travel so much more enjoyable. Just imagine, not having to worry if the airline loses your luggage, or if you end up spraining your ankle as you leave a business meeting. Everything is covered, which means you will have the all important peace of mind you should have when traveling. There are several reasons for buying travel insurance, but when a group of travelers who had coverage were asked what factors were most important when they decided to purchase it, the responses varied. The majority seemed to be worried about what would happen if their possessions were lost or stolen, or if their baggage was lost en route. While these are rather crucial reasons to have travel insurance, there are several others as well, and some of them you may not have considered.

* Business Bankruptcy. This is a rather more common occurrence then you might think. Cruise lines, airlines, and even hotels/resorts go bankrupt all the time, and the chances of you getting your money back are slim to none.

* Accommodation Trouble. Have you ever gone to check into resort that you already places a deposit down for, only to find out that there was a problem, and, not only do they have no record of your payment, but they refuse to offer you further accommodations until either they can sort it our, or you can pay the fee again? This takes time, and money you probably won’t have to spare.

* Extreme Weather. A bad storm, like a hurricane, tornado, or other natural disasters can happen anyway, and without much warning. You should always plan for a possible evacuation. * Violent Attacks. With the number of terrorist activities being reported all over the world, you want to be prepared if something happens, either before or after you have arrived at your destination.

* Medical Emergencies. Whether you break your arm, or you end up eating some bad chicken on the plane, if something happens that lands you in the hospital, insurance is something you will desperately need. Especially if you wind up needing to spend a few weeks in that country.

These are just a few of the less obvious scenarios that often people don’t consider, and they don’t even cover the most obvious reasons for making sure you have insurance, such as canceled flights, stolen luggage, stolen passport/money, or just having to cancel your trip before it starts. With so many risks, it should be easy to see why travel insurance will always be the most important thing you should pack before you step out on your trip.
