What if you were taking a family vacation, and were notified by the hotel that they were banning video games from being used at the hotel site? Well a Four Star Hotel in Scotland is doing just that. The gorgeous swanky hotel is called the Crieff Hydro Hotel and they are not allowing video games to be used on the site of the hotel. They say it is to promote family values and togetherness with the ones you love.

The hotel is a massive and has sprawling grounds that promise tons of activities and enjoyable adventures for couples, families, and individuals alike. It was founded in 1868 and is one of the oldest family run hotels in Scotland! During the holiday season the hotel is focusing a bit more on the “building stronger families” mantra by requesting that all guests refrain from bringing hand held consoles.

Las Vegas – Still the World’s Playground Las Vegas – Still the World’s Playground

Las Vegas has been a popular tourist destination for decades, and in this rough economy, there has never been a better place to visit. With fewer consumer dollars going around, casinos and shops are pulling out all the tricks, much to your benefit. Here’s a pro-tip: subscribe to every single casino’s mailing list. They will frequently send you offers, so if you sign up for all of them, you’ll have a bunch of deals to choose from.

For instance Luxor recently sent out an email advertisement for $33/night, as well as additional coupons and suite credits. On the other end of the spectrum, Venetian frequently emails guests offers for $119 suites, as well as additional suite credits, slot credits, and bonus coupons. A spectacular deal, considering those suites are normally a minimum of $169 a night. And, should you be so lucky to be staying at the Venetian, you can have breakfast and one of the best value’s in town.

Manchester – Britain’s Hidden Dining Mecca

By

When foodies think of Britain, they usually think of London. The reason is obvious: London is HUGE, and boasts a ton of superstar chefs, including it’s very own Gordon Ramsey. But great food in the UK is not limited strictly to London; Manchester is also home to some killer dining options. Here’s a short list for even the most discriminating tastes.

1. Michael Caines at the Abode – 2 michelin-star chef Michael Caines calls the basement of the Abode his home, opening up one of Manchester’s finest restaurants. Michael Caines at the Abode has won several prestigious awards, including Pride of Manchester 2009 and Best Restaurant 2009. The cuisine is nothing short of exquisite, and the service impeccable. Clearly Manchester’s best shot at getting a 2 michelin star.

Amsterdam – Must See Spots

By
Amsterdam is renowned for many things, including art, architecture, and one of the richest histories of any European cities.  With so many things to do in Amsterdam, where does one start?  Here are some must see spots.

Go to the Red Light District, just to say that you went.  One of the most intriguing that unique experiences that you’ll ever have.  Come with an open mind, but don’t bring you camera – they’re not allowed around here.  If that’s not your cup of tea, you can go to one of Amsterdam’s most famous markets, the Albert Cuyp market, you can buy anything local at a great price.  As a bonus, if you’re a little tired you can wander into one cafes near by; maybe you’ll find their tea a little more…soothing.  Afterwards, you can check out one of Amsterdam’s many clubs and bars.  If you’re into electronic music, Amsterdam has always been on the leading edge.

If you’re more into being cultured, Amsterdam also boasts many world class museums.  One of the most famous is the Van Gogh museum.  Not only does it contain an exhaustive collection of his personal work, it contains his personal Japanese print collection as well as selected 19th century art.  A testament to the past, Anne Frank’s House is also a museum. This is the place that inspired that diary that has touched the hearts of so many.  Putting the horrors of World War 2 in perspective, the museum is a sobering, but rewarding trip.  Finally, the Koninklijk Paleis (aka the Royal Palace) is a stunning architectural masterpiece.  Not is the exterior beautiful, the interior contains a massive collection of beautiful furniture and art.
There are many reasons to travel to Amsterdam, and here’s just a few of them.  No matter what your cup of tea may be, Amsterdam’s got a little something for everyone.

Most Spiritual Destinations on Earth

Believing in a God, whatever is His name, makes a human stronger. Every believe has its sacred places, with a magnetic effect against people embracing that believe. A spiritual destination is first of all a sacred place, when you feel yourself nearer to your God and some related legends. A spiritual destination is strongly enhanced if hosting the remainings of a saint.
And now a serious question only for the professional traveler: is the pilgrimage a form of tourism or not? Even if you answer “Yes” to this question, you must accept that is a very special one, as fun and entertainment are not at all important things during a pilgrimage.
