The Leaning Tower of Pisa is not the only leaning tower in the world that you can visit. There are so much more leaning towers available on the face of the Earth that you can drop by the next time you decide to take a holiday. Here are the best 5 you should find out more of.

1. The Leaning Tower of San Pietro di Castello, Venice, Italy
Venice is well known for its interesting building structures and one of them includes the Leaning Tower of San Pietro di Castello. The charmingly old building leaned to one side as a result of the passage of time and waterlogged soil. Standing in the bell tower itself offers you a great many photos to bring home where the scenic surroundings are sure to wow your friends and family.

2. Tower of the Milices, Rome, Italy
Yet another interesting structure from Italy, the Tower of the Milices or the Torre delle Milizie was constructed in the year 1200 but thanks to an earthquake the devastated the area in 1348, the tower’s top level crumbled to pieces, leaving the main structure intact but tilting 1.36 degrees towards the north east direction. The tower is expected to lean more throughout the years, so we shall soon see if this won’t rival the Leaning Tower of Pisa

3. Temple Church, Bristol, England
Is it a temple or a church? It’s neither now; it’s a leaning tower! This tower alarmingly leans approximately 5 feet outwards but experts announced that there is no real danger resulting from this leaning tower. The church’s construction was completed during 1460, more than a century since work building began. A Knights Templar church stood in its original site. During World War II, serious damage caused the building to enter a state of disrepair but it is now in safe hands under the observation of the English Heritage.

4. Oude Kerk, Delft, the Netherlands
The Oude Kerk, affectionately known as the Old Church is an interesting landmark in the city of Delft, the Netherlands. It leans out a staggering 6.5 feet away from the original axis and can be a rather startling site for those who see it for the first time. It houses an old bell weighing 9 tons and we can all bet that the bell is rarely rung due to its massive weight and height above ground!

5. Nevyansk Falling Tower, Sverdlovsk, Russia
This building was erected in the city of Sverdlovsk, Russia and leans approximately 7 feet outwards. Built by a famous associate of Czar Peter the Great, the tower has been known to house hidden treasures in the form of gold and silver after some of it was found in hidden compartments within the chimney. It was rumored to be hidden there by a counterfeiter looking to hide his loot.

Puerto Penasco is a beautiful city located by the shore of the Gulf of California. The name translates to “Rocky Point” in English. This beautiful city is a gorgeous vacation spot for families and couples that prefer a quiet vacation. Cancun and other well known Mexico resort areas are great, but if you want something a little closer to what Mexico is really like, Puerto Penasco is the place to go.

The actual area of the city is large, but there aren’t very many people or buildings crowding the area. There are tons of wonderful restaurants, beaches, hotels, and shopping areas to nab great locally made things. Puerto Penasco is the closest beach for people in New Mexico and Arizona, making it a very popular spring break destination for college students. It doesn’t get as crazy as other Mexico spring break destinations, but if you prefer fewer crowds then don’t visit here in April.

For lodging there are tons of upscale hotels and condos to meet your budget and needs. If you prefer something more affordable there are plenty of those available. Currently new hotels and condos are in development, so you can expect beautiful new seaside lodging options soon! All of the hotels are modern and up to date with everything you need, and the condos provide a perfect environment for longer vacations and private beach access. Some of the hotels offer great nightlife adventures as well.

There are two strips of beach in Puerto Penasco, one is free and one is dedicated to timeshare owners and condos and resort hotels. Depending on where you want to go and your plans, you can choose either. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from on either beach so you will never be without food. Other shopping venues include street side sellers that are selling hand crafted goods and more delicious treats.

If you want to enjoy a nice day of boating, boat rentals are available, as are parasailing trips and many other tours to choose from. There are even ATV rentals available so that you can take them on the nearby sand dunes. If you have never used a Jet Ski, Rocky Point offers Jet Ski rentals too. Other fun rentals include banana boats, kayaking, and even snorkeling! Imagine looking into the beautiful clear blue waters and getting up close and personal with all of tropical fish! To snorkel you simply have to go visit another island called “Bird Island”, where you can see sea lions and dolphins.

It’s hard to get bored in Puerto Penasco, even though it’s a small city there are tons of wonderful activities to keep you and the family entertained. It is truly a marvelous family resort area, or just a nice place for a short and quiet vacation. Whatever the reason, this is one of the places you will never hear of unless you go see it for yourself!

Mexico has always been a fantastic place to visit. No matter what you’re in the mood for, you’re sure to find it somewhere – world class cuisine? Try Mexico City. Looking for great beaches? Puerto Escondido is your destination. Beautiful antiquities? Ancient sites abound. All these reasons make Mexico perfect for any vacation; here’s some of the more popular destinations.

The capital city of Mexico gets the first mention here. Mexico City is easily the most populous city in the country, with over 8 million residents. Because of this, it is easily one of the most modern. It hosts restaurants from top chefs such as Michael Mina; has plenty of American favorites like Starbucks at every corner. And if you’re looking for nightlife, Mexico City’s got it. Mexico City also plays host to many national treasures, such as the National Museum of Anthropology in Chapultepec Park. Don’t be scared by all the media hype regarding crime in this big city – it’s no more or less than you will find in any major metropolitan town.

While Cancun steals all the national spotlight, locals know that Mexico has many better options. Playa del Carmen rises to the top of many of those lists. Long favored by locals, after seeing the beautiful white sandy beaches and clear blue waters, it’s no wonder why. The best part is, unlike it’s more expensive neighbors, Playa del Carmen has many hotels to fit any budget. Don’t forget to visit the nearby Mayan ruins.

Puebla, situated a mere 3 hours away from Mexico City, offers tourists an amazing look into Mexico’s storied past. A truly history city, many buildings have been preserved and are open to the public. It is here, at the Museo de la Revolucion that the Mexican civil war started in 1910. The city is famous for it’s pottery, so be sure to bring enough money to buy some as gifts. Oh, and don’t forget to try the mole; it’s a local specialty as well.

While Mexico doesn’t offer the same amount of flashiness as it’s neighbors, it does offer great weather all year round and beautiful destinations at an affordable price. Savvy travelers recognize a vacation to Mexico is a bargain compared to a trip to Cancun. Take a chance on Mexico – you might find yourself pleasantly surprised.

Being safe while traveling is a #1 priority for many. It’s a sad fact that many beautiful travel destinations (such as Columbia) are simply not safe for most people to travel to. While most places are generally safe, especially in well known “safe” districts, there are 7 countries that are well known for their low crime rates and high safety ratings.

New Zealand is high on the list of safe countries to visit. It has a relatively low population, and it’s an overall peaceful place to be. Many of the residents are natives and have lived there for their entire lives. Not only does this country provide exquisite landscapes, but also plenty of activities and safe fun.

Denmark is a country that is happy overall, and therefore, there are fewer crimes. Like any country this one does have its ups and downs, but overall its stable and minimal murders and robberies take place. You probably won’t get mugged in Denmark unless you are in the wrong part of town.

Norway is a beautiful country with majestic mountains and clean landscapes to explore. There are tons of attractions in Norway, both affordable and luxury. One of the best parts is that it is a safe place to visit and crime is minimal. While crime is “rising”, it doesn’t pose a huge threat to travelers.

Iceland is known for its remarkably low crime rate, happy people, and safe environment. Almost everyone keeps their doors unlocked and people are friendly here all around. If you want to visit someplace safe and beautiful, Iceland has to be it. There are very few crimes and when crimes do occur, they are minimal ones.

Austria is a pretty safe country too, but some cities (such as Budapest) are not as safe as others like Vienna. When in Austria, get advice from those who know which areas are safe and which are not.

Sweden is a clean and beautiful nation with beautiful people and safe places to visit. The crime rates here are low and well controlled. People seem to have better things to do.

Japan is a place of zen people, crazy customs, and low crime. If you want to visit a unique and culture rich country, go to Japan. It has plenty of fun opportunities for anyone.

Most countries in Europe are relatively safe, and they include Finland as well as Slovenia. Other countries that have records for low crime rates include Canada. It’s no surprise that the US isn’t on the list. However, these other countries are far more interesting if you already live in the United States anyway. As with any travel excursion, be sure to ask questions and get reviews from people who live there. They can tell you better than anyone, if something is safe or not. If you are adamant about traveling to a particularly risky place, be sure to take a self defense course ahead of time and pack lightly without valuables.

What if you were taking a family vacation, and were notified by the hotel that they were banning video games from being used at the hotel site? Well a Four Star Hotel in Scotland is doing just that. The gorgeous swanky hotel is called the Crieff Hydro Hotel and they are not allowing video games to be used on the site of the hotel. They say it is to promote family values and togetherness with the ones you love.

The hotel is a massive and has sprawling grounds that promise tons of activities and enjoyable adventures for couples, families, and individuals alike. It was founded in 1868 and is one of the oldest family run hotels in Scotland! During the holiday season the hotel is focusing a bit more on the “building stronger families” mantra by requesting that all guests refrain from bringing hand held consoles.

So what makes this hotel so special? The beautiful landscape surrounding the hotel is stunning and immaculate, and the interior is just as cozy and royal. This hotel also offers plenty of self catering options, spa treatments, and an ambient family orientated atmosphere. If you choose a self catering cottage at the hotel, you will have a wide range of cleaning materials and cooking materials on hand so that you can do as you please. Dogs are even permitted, since they are often a part of many families and cannot be left alone.

While this hotel looks like a luxury resort, it is truly affordable for most families planning a wonderful holiday vacation. With the addition of “banning” video games, the family gatherings at the resort are sure to bond and be much more enjoyable than previous years! This hotel is a once in a lifetime kind of place, with so much to offer each of the guests that visit.

Las Vegas has been a popular tourist destination for decades, and in this rough economy, there has never been a better place to visit. With fewer consumer dollars going around, casinos and shops are pulling out all the tricks, much to your benefit. Here’s a pro-tip: subscribe to every single casino’s mailing list. They will frequently send you offers, so if you sign up for all of them, you’ll have a bunch of deals to choose from.

For instance Luxor recently sent out an email advertisement for $33/night, as well as additional coupons and suite credits. On the other end of the spectrum, Venetian frequently emails guests offers for $119 suites, as well as additional suite credits, slot credits, and bonus coupons. A spectacular deal, considering those suites are normally a minimum of $169 a night. And, should you be so lucky to be staying at the Venetian, you can have breakfast and one of the best value’s in town.

Bouchon is located on the 11th Floor of the Venezia tower, at the Venetian Casino resort. A Thomas Keller restaurant (of The French Laundry/Per Se fame), Bouchon is open for breakfast and dinner, and brunch on weekends. Bouchon has undoubtedly one of the best breakfasts in town. Period.

Everything from the delectable pastries to savory chicken and waffles, Bouchon is a morning treat for any tourist. However, the reason they get mentioned here is because of one sole item: the sourdough waffle. Now, this isn’t just any normal sourdough waffle: it’s a sourdough waffle with bananas candied walnuts, vermont maple syrup, a touch of powdered sugar, and tahiatian vanilla butter. The waffle is perfection, beautifully crusty on the outside while still being soft and light on the inside, combined with an array of condiments that when combined fuse into the perfect bite, whose sum is greater than it’s parts. Yeah, it’s that good, and at a mere $8.50, is the best value breakfast in town. Oh yeah, get a bloody marie while you’re there, if you like it spicy.

Another great idea if you’re looking for shows is to buy tickets on the day of. There are plenty of ticket vendors in Las Vegas selling half price tickets for many of Vegas’ hottest shows, including Cirque Du Soleil, Le Reve, and Blue Man Group. These vendors are given unsold tickets by the casinos, and in turn pass the savings onto the consumer. You can’t count on your favorite show being there, so go early for the best selection.

Finally, if clubbing is your type, even the clubs are having great deals. Not only can you find great deals online, getting you VIP entry into many of Vegas’ hottest clubs, you can get deals at the clubs themselves too. Of course, that doesn’t mean you won’t be spending a ton of money anyway. Many clubs are offering incentives to people who purchase bottle service. Now if you have enough friends, this might be a great idea; just don’t try to go it solo.

Of course, there’s a ton of free stuff to do in Vegas as well. Check out local sights, including Hoover Dam (dedicate a whole day), Laughlin, and even the outlet malls on the south and north end of Vegas. Don’t forget, there’s great Chinese food in Chinatown (yes, there’s a Chinatown in Vegas); you don’t have to suffer through food court chinese. The great thing about Vegas is that you can have a great time, no matter what your budget.

When foodies think of Britain, they usually think of London. The reason is obvious: London is HUGE, and boasts a ton of superstar chefs, including it’s very own Gordon Ramsey. But great food in the UK is not limited strictly to London; Manchester is also home to some killer dining options. Here’s a short list for even the most discriminating tastes.

1. Michael Caines at the Abode – 2 michelin-star chef Michael Caines calls the basement of the Abode his home, opening up one of Manchester’s finest restaurants. Michael Caines at the Abode has won several prestigious awards, including Pride of Manchester 2009 and Best Restaurant 2009. The cuisine is nothing short of exquisite, and the service impeccable. Clearly Manchester’s best shot at getting a 2 michelin star.

2. Vermilion – As much spectacle as it is food, Vermilion is an Asian fusion inspired restaurant located near Manchester stadium. Some people call it the most exquisite restaurant in Manchester, and no wonder – the price tag was a whopping 4.5m pounds! Definitely a sight to behold.

3. Puccini’s Ristorante – You can find practically any type of cuisine in Manchester, and Puccini’s serves some of the best Italian in the city. In fact, it might just very well be the best Italian in whole region. You might get a fleeting glimpse of a celebrity, or even the entire Manchester United team.

4. Zouk Manchester – A secret to anyone not living in Britain, the UK is proud home to a large population of ExPats who love Indian cuisine. As such, you can find great Indian restaurants everywhere, including Manchester. Travelers seeking Indian food should look no further than Zouk, a 1m restaurant situated directly across from BBC studios. Here you’ll find great Indian inspired dishes of steak, fish, and even gourmet burgers. As a bonus for you late night hounds, it’s open until midnight.

5. The Modern - Equally impressive for it’s food and it’s view. Go here for a beautiful overlook of the city. The Modern is also surprisingly affordable, all things considered.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for Manchester dining. While London gets all the fame, Manchester definitely shares in the glory.

Los Angeles - Being Transformed by L.A. Live

With L.A. Live finally nearing completion, Los Angeles is truly becoming the entertainment capital of the west coast. An entertainment center supported by an extensive network of theaters, bars, and restaurants, L.A. Live is an entertainment mecca like no other, and truly an impressive sight to behold for any tourist.

Anchored by the Staples Center, home of four different major sports teams, L.A. Live consists of an outdoor shopping area, a world class theater, numerous clubs, restaurants, movie theaters, and mall stores – it even boasts two separate five-star hotels on the same property and even luxury condominiums starting at over $1,000,000 each! As if that weren’t enough, as a testament to it’s worldwide clout, L.A. Live is also the proud home of the Rock and Roll Hall of fame museum, which, for the budget traveller, is open free to the public.

But truly what separates L.A. Live from other entertainment venues is the sheer quality of talent that is coming through. Thousands of famous people have played at the Staples Center and L.A. Live including acts like Britney Spears, the Rolling Stones, Jay Z, and Beyonce. It also hosts dozens of different award shows, and was the location of the official Michael Jackson tribute. There is no other city west of the Mississippi that can offer up such an impressive resume.

The Downtown Los Angeles left much to be desired as little as 5 years ago. But with the support of the local community, as well as the city and numerous sponsers, L.A. Live has truly turned Los Angeles into an entertainment mecca. Travel to Los Angeles for yourself and see what all the fuss is about.

If you’re more into being cultured, Amsterdam also boasts many world class museums. One of the most famous is the Van Gogh museum. Not only does it contain an exhaustive collection of his personal work, it contains his personal Japanese print collection as well as selected 19th century art. A testament to the past, Anne Frank’s House is also a museum. This is the place that inspired that diary that has touched the hearts of so many. Putting the horrors of World War 2 in perspective, the museum is a sobering, but rewarding trip. Finally, the Koninklijk Paleis (aka the Royal Palace) is a stunning architectural masterpiece. Not is the exterior beautiful, the interior contains a massive collection of beautiful furniture and art.

Believing in a God, whatever is His name, makes a human stronger. Every believe has its sacred places, with a magnetic effect against people embracing that believe. A spiritual destination is first of all a sacred place, when you feel yourself nearer to your God and some related legends. A spiritual destination is strongly enhanced if hosting the remainings of a saint.
And now a serious question only for the professional traveler: is the pilgrimage a form of tourism or not? Even if you answer “Yes” to this question, you must accept that is a very special one, as fun and entertainment are not at all important things during a pilgrimage.

And now let us end with the theory, and go to the spiritual destinations!
1.Varanasi, on the Gange River, is one of the most important targets of pilgrimage in the Hindi world. Taking a bath in the Gange River at Varanasi means a huge relief, and the believer is forgiven all its sins. Every Hindi must undertake this ritual bath at least once in his life, and thus he can escape to the endless cycle of death and rebirth.

A ritual bath at Varanasi makes all the sins of a Hindu forgotten

2.Mecca is maybe the most famous spiritual destination on Earth. Every Muslim must go once in his life to Mecca, the religious capital of the Islamic world, and one of its holly places. Every Muslim while praying must face Mecca. Mecca is forbidden for Nonmuslims, and all what we know about this fascinating city is due to desguised people who traveled there.

Visiting Mecca once in the lifetime is a must do for every Muslim

3. The Cologne Cathedral, in Germany, is one of the early place of gathering for Christians (already in the Roman Empire Christians came here). Today the Cologne Cathedral still has a magic strength. Visit it, and take part to a public pray. There is something in the air making you feel nearer to God.

The Cologne cathedral has something special, even divine
