Futuristic Hotels: Atlantis the Palm in Dubai

Dubai possesses already world’s most luxury hotel, The Burj al Arab.
Very soon another highest class hotel will be added: the amazing Atlantis The Palm Hotel. It is a hotel with 1729 rooms and 17 restaurants, and will be opened to the public on 24th September. The construction lasted 4 years and cost 1,5 billion dollars.
This hotel is dedicated to water: it has a huge water aquarium under the hotel ( more stocks, 11 billions of water ) and a huge water park near the hotel ( the biggest from Dubai and Middle East ).
The big aquarium under is easy accessible from the hotel, and you can take a walk through the aquarium without getting wet!
The hotel is also inside luxury decorated, and you are going to feel spoiled, like in 1001 Nights. The
inner architecture of Hotel Atlantis The Palm has also some marine elements.
And you have also the unique opportunity to swim with the dolphins, in the Hotel Delphinpark, just to feel closer to the sea and its living creatures.
My conclusion is simple: Hotel Atlantis The Palm is a jewel you’ve got to visit!

The aquarium is nice and huge, indeed.
I think the hotel was not opened to public in last June. Or maybe not totally, or not for everyone?
Thank you Alex

John, I wouldn’t be so happy
The price of a room at Atlantis Hotel from Dubai is like 13000£. Unless someone sponsor me, I won’t be able to get there, unfortunately. But anyway, Atlantis hotel is still the most luxury, beautiful hotel I’ve ever written about. Dubai will probably have no trouble after oil resources run dry!

Well ..it might look nice and posh but the first few days are horrible!!!!! Lots of people, 2 hours waiting to get a room that was booked a week in advance, service not up to par , although i must say the staff tries really hard and the cherry on the cake…………10 hours without water!!!!!!!! YES we are paying to stay in a hotel that has no water. This is a first for Atlantis and Dubai.

I have just returned from Atlantis it is my first and only visit to this hotel, my visit was a nightmare from start to finish.
Firstly we arrived at 8.00am and was promptly shown to our room were we waited 3 hours for our luggage to arrive.
That evening we waited nearly two hours for a taxi, apparently most of the taxi drivers do not want fairs to the Atlantis as it was so far away from both New and Old Dubai, neadless to say most of the drivers we used had no idea how to get to it.
On the second morning we were woken up to the sound of the P.A system saying that the lifts were not in use and to use the stairs, it wasnt too bad for us on the 4th Floor but it must have been horrendous for families with young children on higher floors.
Even though we were a customer of the Atlantis we were still charged to visit Dolphin Bay(about £35 per head)I was under the assumption that this was free of charge.
The ATM machines on site (3 in total) would not accept mastercards so was unable to obtain cash from dispenser, had to travel bout 4 miles to another ATM (without taxis was not funny).
The staff are obviously very inexperienced at such a high profile location, and most of them had no idea who to report to when identifying problems.
All in all a bad experience for me, but what I will say is that Dubai is the most magnificent holiday ever just be carefull were you stay.

Basically, you do not want to be anywhere new in Dubai. This city thrives on novelty, but isnt really able manage new constructions/ customer service needs/ facilities in any kind of a positive or pleasant manner.
When in doubt, the average Dubai customer service worker simply evaporates. Problem solving is not their forte.
For your wedding anniversary, go to the Burj al Arab. They KNOW what they are doing and they are guaranteed to provide you with a memorable and beautiful experience. Have your 50th at the Atlantis.

To Robert, re wedding anniversary…I agree wtih Sandmama - go the The Burj al Arab Hotel instead. I’ve been to The Burj several times and it is OUTSTANDING. Forget the Atlantis until it has been open for a year and the staff gets experienced.

IF you want the real Atlantis Experience and real customer service, visit the original on Paradise Island in The Bahamas. Go on a real island with a real beach and see real culture.
Plus you take a boat and travel to some of the offshore cays and have a romantic get away.
I’ll give you 700 reasons to visit the Islands of The Bahamas, and 2300 cays to unlock the secrets of paradise.

Don’t go to Atantis Palm yet!I was shown to a room (supposedly imperial suites) that had not been cleaned. Later, I was given a different room and checked in. However my luggage went missing and did not turn up until 8 hours after I tried to check in. On leaving my luggage was lost again and we were told just to take a look in the various luggage rooms, we found our own luggage and left with it. The warm water did not work, noone in guest services answered the phone. I had to come down and leave the kids in the robes to follow up on luggage as we only had swimsuits. I had the wrong billing, car not valeted just left with keys.
Anyway, I could actually continue more, there were no rubber things in the waterpark as it was eid and they were all used up. At least it makes for good stories at parties!

From Christiainity and Islamic point of views, it is an unforgiveable sin to waste any money on such accomodations. Or even bilding such a gigantic “tower of sins”, when over half of the world is wandering in homeless, hungary and desparate situation.
I wouldn’t even dream of it, even if I be able to afford it!

the Atlantis hotel looks beautiful..one more reason to visit Dubai
