Futuristic Hotels: Atlantis the Palm in Dubai

Dubai possesses already world’s most luxury hotel, The Burj al Arab.
Very soon another highest class hotel will be added: the amazing Atlantis The Palm Hotel. It is a hotel with 1729 rooms and 17 restaurants, and will be opened to the public on 24th September. The construction lasted 4 years and cost 1,5 billion dollars.
This hotel is dedicated to water: it has a huge water aquarium under the hotel ( more stocks, 11 billions of water ) and a huge water park near the hotel ( the biggest from Dubai and Middle East ).
The big aquarium under is easy accessible from the hotel, and you can take a walk through the aquarium without getting wet!
The hotel is also inside luxury decorated, and you are going to feel spoiled, like in 1001 Nights. The
inner architecture of Hotel Atlantis The Palm has also some marine elements.
And you have also the unique opportunity to swim with the dolphins, in the Hotel Delphinpark, just to feel closer to the sea and its living creatures.
My conclusion is simple: Hotel Atlantis The Palm is a jewel you’ve got to visit!

The aquarium is nice and huge, indeed.
I think the hotel was not opened to public in last June. Or maybe not totally, or not for everyone?
Thank you Alex
September 23rd, 2008 at 12:25 pm
Wow, indeed. The Atlantis hotel is one of the most luxury stuff I’ve ever seen, it is the star of Dubai.
September 24th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
And it’s here
Atlantis Hotel from Dubai, the most luxurious hotel ever opened today!!!iii
September 24th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
John, I wouldn’t be so happy
The price of a room at Atlantis Hotel from Dubai is like 13000£. Unless someone sponsor me, I won’t be able to get there, unfortunately. But anyway, Atlantis hotel is still the most luxury, beautiful hotel I’ve ever written about. Dubai will probably have no trouble after oil resources run dry!
September 25th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
OH… ITS COOL AH. BUT I DONT THINK THAT UNLESS BY A DREAM, ME & MY HUSBUND WON’T BE ABLE TO SPEND A DAY OR TO HAVE A MEAL FROM ATLANTIS….BUY THE WAY STILL I WOULD LIKE TO DREAM ABOUT IT.. HOW EVER.
GOOD LUCK..
September 26th, 2008 at 2:19 pm
SUJI,DREAMING IS GOOD. AND MAYBE ONE DAY THESE DREAMS COME TRUE.
September 29th, 2008 at 11:35 am
beautiful but looks like only the rich will be going there and not the working class folk of Dubai as always shame!!!
September 30th, 2008 at 3:38 pm
Well ..it might look nice and posh but the first few days are horrible!!!!! Lots of people, 2 hours waiting to get a room that was booked a week in advance, service not up to par , although i must say the staff tries really hard and the cherry on the cake…………10 hours without water!!!!!!!! YES we are paying to stay in a hotel that has no water. This is a first for Atlantis and Dubai.
October 1st, 2008 at 8:24 am
THIS IT ONE OF THE BEST HOTELS IN THE WORLD AND I CAN’T WAIT TILL I GO THERE FOR EID!!!!!!! THIS IS THE 2ND WATER SLIDE IN DUBAI ….. BUT BEATS WALD WADI!!!

I have just returned from Atlantis it is my first and only visit to this hotel, my visit was a nightmare from start to finish.
Firstly we arrived at 8.00am and was promptly shown to our room were we waited 3 hours for our luggage to arrive.
That evening we waited nearly two hours for a taxi, apparently most of the taxi drivers do not want fairs to the Atlantis as it was so far away from both New and Old Dubai, neadless to say most of the drivers we used had no idea how to get to it.
On the second morning we were woken up to the sound of the P.A system saying that the lifts were not in use and to use the stairs, it wasnt too bad for us on the 4th Floor but it must have been horrendous for families with young children on higher floors.
Even though we were a customer of the Atlantis we were still charged to visit Dolphin Bay(about £35 per head)I was under the assumption that this was free of charge.
The ATM machines on site (3 in total) would not accept mastercards so was unable to obtain cash from dispenser, had to travel bout 4 miles to another ATM (without taxis was not funny).
The staff are obviously very inexperienced at such a high profile location, and most of them had no idea who to report to when identifying problems.
All in all a bad experience for me, but what I will say is that Dubai is the most magnificent holiday ever just be carefull were you stay.

I have read a lot of mixed reviews on this website. My Thirty Fifth Wedding anniversary is on 12 th, October, I wold lie to spend one night at the Atlantis Hotel, but I am not sure I will get the ‘lifetime experience’ I would like my wife to have.
Please prove me wronge!

Basically, you do not want to be anywhere new in Dubai. This city thrives on novelty, but isnt really able manage new constructions/ customer service needs/ facilities in any kind of a positive or pleasant manner.
When in doubt, the average Dubai customer service worker simply evaporates. Problem solving is not their forte.
For your wedding anniversary, go to the Burj al Arab. They KNOW what they are doing and they are guaranteed to provide you with a memorable and beautiful experience. Have your 50th at the Atlantis.
October 15th, 2008 at 11:27 pm
To Robert, re wedding anniversary…I agree wtih Sandmama – go the The Burj al Arab Hotel instead. I’ve been to The Burj several times and it is OUTSTANDING. Forget the Atlantis until it has been open for a year and the staff gets experienced.
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:11 am
its very nice hotel in dubai..i spend around three days in that hotel..i cann’t forget the enjoyment and fun there with my friends.its nice hotel to visit once in our life time…

IF you want the real Atlantis Experience and real customer service, visit the original on Paradise Island in The Bahamas. Go on a real island with a real beach and see real culture.
Plus you take a boat and travel to some of the offshore cays and have a romantic get away.
I’ll give you 700 reasons to visit the Islands of The Bahamas, and 2300 cays to unlock the secrets of paradise.

Don’t go to Atantis Palm yet!I was shown to a room (supposedly imperial suites) that had not been cleaned. Later, I was given a different room and checked in. However my luggage went missing and did not turn up until 8 hours after I tried to check in. On leaving my luggage was lost again and we were told just to take a look in the various luggage rooms, we found our own luggage and left with it. The warm water did not work, noone in guest services answered the phone. I had to come down and leave the kids in the robes to follow up on luggage as we only had swimsuits. I had the wrong billing, car not valeted just left with keys.
Anyway, I could actually continue more, there were no rubber things in the waterpark as it was eid and they were all used up. At least it makes for good stories at parties!
October 27th, 2008 at 9:33 am
Is their an entrance fee to view the aquarium and how much? I want to see this amazing place.
October 28th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
i hope there would be no fire drill like i experienced in one of the hotels in sheikh zayed a few years back when the hotel i was staying was quite new. in the middle of the night while taking a shower, there was a fire drill at 11:00 night and there was a gitex exhibition…i have to go down the lobby dripping wet…hahaha…hope i can see this hotel and experience it first hand.
October 29th, 2008 at 8:38 am
From Christiainity and Islamic point of views, it is an unforgiveable sin to waste any money on such accomodations. Or even bilding such a gigantic “tower of sins”, when over half of the world is wandering in homeless, hungary and desparate situation.
I wouldn’t even dream of it, even if I be able to afford it!
November 17th, 2008 at 7:52 pm

November 23rd, 2008 at 12:55 pm
I don’t know that, Omani, but
if you didn’t see the firework, it was in the whole palm. And the palm was so light and colourful, but it means that it was VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!
Have a nice day!:), and go to atlantis!!
November 23rd, 2008 at 12:59 pm

Well, now I am nervous! I am to go the Atlantis Palm in January 2009 and do not know if I should cancel or not?! Is it really as bad as you all say? Should I find another hotel, or take my chances? I have an 8 year old daughter and this is suppose to be a dream vacation, I really do not want it to become a nightmare! HELP!

What a great fireworks

I worked a few years in dubai, and everything is aftificial.
Nothing is real. The summer damn hot 50° degree you only can stay inside your hotel or villa.
An alternative is visting one of the Shopping Malls, but they are getting boring so quick.. You can read that also in my blog too.
February 1st, 2009 at 12:12 am
It was a fascinating experience and it certainly is one of those not to be missed if you are visiting Dubai.
February 4th, 2009 at 10:01 am
It is really magnificient and you can experience a unique and great excitment with the water thrills and swimming pools of the aquaventure.
February 15th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
As with all hotels in the world, there is always someone who had a bad experience and writes about it on a website. Sometimes human mistakes can be made, and it can be disappointing for a moment if something goes wrong – but those who complain that they lost their luggage – or had to wait until check-in time to check in after arriving early in the day expecting their room to be ready – relax, stop whining, go and enjoy yourselves instead of moaning! You’re in one of the best hotels you’ll ever find! Dubai is fab, the Atlantis is one of the best places anywhere. Stop nit-picking!!

Hola,

What are the rates for this hotel? If its anything like the Burj it will just be a dream for me
November 28th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
Been there for a few days this spring, got quite a bad experience.
We were hosted in an “Atlantis” suite while attending a 4 days business meeting.
Our PA booked a room with two beds, one for me and one for my assistant, but on arrival we were shown a single bed accommodation. We travel a lot together and we happened to share a bed out of necessity, usually when in third world countries or in unforeseen stays, but for the price and the level of the place I insisted to have the room changed. I had to spoke with two different people to have this situation resolved.
Rooms were not nearly as big as the ones shown on the hotel website, have cheap finishings and their cleanliness is dubious. The first room shown had a foot stain on a wall.
The management provided bottled water every day: we used that to mouthwash, too, because tap water sometimes smelled of chemicals.
We had a bad experience with taxi service. The taxis may took up to an hour to come to pick us up, and never less than 30 minutes. Drivers are some of the worst I’ve ever seen: noisy, careless and sometimes dishonest, always keep cash in the right amount (including extra), or you risk being charged a substantial tip.
Hotel restaurant was quite good, with the remarkable exception of the “Italian” dishes: guess they could do for an American tourist, but please don’t call them Italian. It was quite expensive too.
The marine park is included in the price. My assistant was overjoyed by the water park, while the “lost chambers” are fake as only a fake aquarium could be: the pain from the silly sceneries was enough to dispel every pleasure from the fish fauna.
Next time we’ll be back at the Burj.
December 3rd, 2009 at 4:36 pm
I think that they must be having a problem with staff training. The Muscat Shangri-la is quite the reverse with its service – the training must make a difference
December 4th, 2009 at 4:12 pm
fantastic indeed. but the silly mistakes in the site leaves a bad taste in the mouth. for a perfect hotel there should be a perfect site.
December 9th, 2009 at 7:34 am
Really its great to see once in a lifetime to enjoy the water park dolphin bays and hotel
December 11th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
Unfortunately luxury comes with a hefty price tag. Cannot help but admire the engineering effort put in all the great constructions in Dubai over the last decade.
January 18th, 2010 at 7:30 am
Wow! Atlantis hotel is the star of DUBAI, I really enjoy seeing the the luxuriest hotet ever seen.
