If you have thought about traveling to Lima, Peru, let me start off by saying you will love it. With a rich history, beautiful culture, and some of the most interesting sights in the world, it is a great place to spend your holiday vacation. But if you have been looking at Lima hotels, you may have noticed that there are a lot of choices for either very little money, or way too much.

It may seem like a tempting idea to go with one of the hotels that costs around $8 USD per night for a stay, and you may be thinking what an incredible deal that is. But keep in mind this is not actually a regular occurrence in Lima, where other hotels could cost as much as $300 a night. In the end, you get what you pay for, just like in any other city, so keep that in mind when you make your choice.

While there are plenty of medium range hotels that are well known for their excellent service, they tend to be quite a bit less advertised, which makes them slightly harder to find then the other two. That’s why I have compiled a list of a few o my favorite Lima hotels, that will offer you quality service, comfortable accommodations, and helpful amenities, without breaking the bank.

hotel-san-antonio-abad

* Hotel San Antonio Abad – With clean, cozy rooms, a complimentary breakfast (of rather high quality, I might add), and some great common areas to meet other guests, or just to relax, the Hotel San Antonio Abad is a wonderful, friendly hotel. It costs around $53 a night, and while a fairly basic accommodation, it’s quite nice

hotel-esperanza
* Hotel Esperanza - A very basic hotel, the Hotel Esperanza isn’t the place you will want to stay for an extended amount of time. However, it makes a great little transfer spot to spend a night or two, and while it doesn’t offer much by way of amenities or entertainment, it’s clean, and the staff is extremely helpful. And at around $32 a night, how can you complain?

francia-inn-hotel
* Francia Inn Hotel – Not only is this an attractive little inn, but they take customer security very seriously, a point they are careful to make in any advertisements or brochures. It’s a considerate little extra, considering anyone can feel a little jumpy when in an unfamiliar country. With beautiful rooms, a swimming pool, other amenities, and 24 security for tourist protection, it’s a steal at only $40 a night.

blue-star-hotel
* Blue Star Hotel – A popular option of business trips, as it offers business sweets and conference rooms, the Blue Star Hotel is one of those places that are comfortable for the price. While not one of the better hotels in the region, it’s at least clean, and the staff is actually very nice. It costs $50 a night for an average room, but one special feature for this hotel are the $5 upgrades that can get you an extra bed, and quite a bit more space, a deal you aren’t likely to find anywhere else.
