If you love and understand, and are very interested of culture, you have many options. London, Paris,Rome, Madrid with there museums; monasteries(e.g. the romanian monasteries from Northern Bucovina) or old mosques and many many more. But this year I could give you a special tip.
Guess what: it is the cultural european capital of this year and lies in the U.K. There is a football team carying that name. It is Liverpool, dear ladies and gentlemen.
When you say Liverpool, you think first to the football teams Liverpool and Everton, and you also think to the Beatles! But Liverpool means much more than that:
- the Liverpool Royal Philarmonic Orchestra is very good and very good known
-there is here a History Museum with the richiest egiptology collection outside London
-the biggest anglican cathedral is in Liverpool. It has been builded between 1904 and 1978 and it is is one of the biggest cathedral all over the world.
Liverpool was in the past(as it still is) an important port. Many of the obsolete port buildings and insatallations have been redecorated and turned to restaurants, hotels, museums. In one of them you can find the Beatles Museum.
