plan ahead vacationIt’s that time of year again – and I don’t mean Christmas. This is the time that many people start thinking about their 2014 summer holidays. Now that the temperature has dropped and the chances of snow are increasing with each passing day, it is nice to have something to look forward to, and there is nothing better than the promise of sun, sand and sea.

That’s why the island of Majorca is so appealing to us Brits, and it could be the perfect destination for your family too. It is only a couple of hours away by plane, and it is possible to get some great deals at the moment. is currently doing early bird holiday deals with deposits of £35pp, which can be very handy when you know you still need to buy your Christmas presents!

So if you do fancy a trip to Majorca with your family, here is the rundown of one resort which would keep both you – the parents – and your kids happy throughout the trip…Palma Nova

The resort of Palma Nova is in an enviable position on the island; it is only a short transfer from the airport and many of the hotels are situated very close to the beach. Saying that, there are actually three easily accessible beaches in Palma Nova: Playa de Son Maties, Cala Blanca, and Playa Es Carregador – they are all perfect for families as there is plenty of golden sand to enjoy. The shortest of the beaches is 600m, and the longest is double that length.

This resort truly has something for everyone, which is why it attracts a range of different groups. However it is undeniably good for families, which we will have a closer look at below.

Good for kids:

  • Golf Fantasia – this is the most exciting adventure golf course around, and will keep your kids entertained for hours. There are three courses, each 18 holes long; they all follow trails in the complex in caves, across waterfalls, and under palm trees.

  • Marineland – only a short bus ride away is the Marineland attraction which is known for amazing dolphin shows. There is also a zoo for your children to enjoy.

  • Western Park – in neighbouring Maguluf, big kids will love Western Park, which has many wet and wonderful rides. There is also a ‘Kidzworld’ area which is suitable for younger children who want to splash around.

Good for adults:

  • Restaurants – Palma Nova has more restaurants than you will be able to experience during your trip, so you can truly try something new each night. Whether you want seafood, Thai, or a pizza, your tastebuds will be catered for.

  • Excursions – there are many boat trips and coach tours that operate from Palma Nova so you can either bring your kids along for the excursion, or see if your hotel operates a kids club that they can attend for a few hours.

With both adults and kids alike finding fun in this amazing Majorcan resort, there’s every reason why you should look at taking your Summer 2014 holiday in Palma Nova.
