what about all the local markets? They are free, if you could resist the shopping call, and great way to spend a day. You could just lose yourself searching for vintage clothes in Portobello, people watching at the Camden market, get a souvenir or antiques at Spitalfields Market (depending which day of the week) or sample some great organic products at the Borough Market.

Free things to do in London other than the museums and galleries can be hard to come by if you don’t know where to look. Quirky free things like small free music festivals or comedy can make for the best nights out after a hard day walking aroung london.

There’s some great things to do in London on this list, I especially like wandering along the southbank. The markets are also great to meander around like borough market.
