If you never visited Berlin up to now, I tell you sincerely and honestly that you lost a few things. Berlin, as one of the Europe’s biggest cities, has a lot to tell and to show you. It is a modern vibrant city with intensive night life, and surely the most avantgardistic city across the Europe. David Bowie in person was mesmerized and seduced by the spirit of Berlin.
Berlin, as we all know, had a trembled history. After WWII it was totally destroyed and its surprisingly reconstruction seemed to be impossible to many people. Many people considered Berlin a condemned city, as they didn’t know the fantastic capacity and discipline of the Germans. Please don’t ask the people on the street about Hitler and the concentration camps, they are not responsible for them. The people are very kind and gentle, and you don’t need to make them guilty or uncomfortable.
During the Cold War the divided Berlin was a serious issue, which appeared daily on the front page of the newspapers. Today you can ride a bike along the former Berlin Wall. It is very instructive and also very useful for you in order to know better Berlin. Ask about the wonderful avenues of K’dam (shortly for Kurfurstendamm) and Unter den Linden, where you can find mostly of the leading hotels and restaurants, theaters etc. Ask further about Alexanderplatz and Brandenburger Tor, Chekpoint Charlie (a museum today) and search the Kennedy Museum (The West Berlin had a special feeling for John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the former charismatic american president. This one said during one of its speeches “Ich bin ein Berliner”, which mean “I am a citizen of Berlin”).
I can tell you further a lot of incredible things and facts about berlin, as I love this city very much. But I also have some interesting tips and tricks about Berlin . And they are updated for the today Berlin.
First of all, as you need to stay somewhere while in Berlin, I warmly recommend Ellington Hotel( number 1 on the map). It is a wonderfull historical building which hosted during the 30’s Balls and parties. In the 70’s David Bowie sang here ( the place was called Jungle). Not far from Ellington Hotel you have another luxury alternative: Lux 11 (number 2 on the map).
In Restaurant Koi (3) you can eat on a budget in the best conditions. A meal will cost 7 Euros, and you can get mainly Asian dishes. Not far you can find a luxury restaurant: Shiro i Shiro (4), which is located within the hotel Lux 11 and can satisfy every taste. Sharon Stone and Mick Jagger were also here ( not together), and were really satisfied. The kitchen is also Asian, but much more elaborated. If you rather prefer an European kitchen, go to Kadima restaurant (6), where you can find Jewish and Russian specialities.
Don’t miss the Berlin avantgarde. The new opened Gallery Goff and Rosenthal (8) has some interesting pieces of young artists from Europe and U.S. But the most important and most interesting place I’ve noticed in the today Berlin is the Radialsystem V (9). It is actually a must do in Berlin. In a remade pump station you can find an incredible diversity of newer or older art waves: old music, contemporary dance, new and multi media, everything is here! Absolutely amazing and necesarily to be seen.
Last, but not least, a tip for the night life and parties afficionado: in the bar Cookies(10)dance the city most beautiful women.
Have a good time in Berlin!

I was lucky enough to go to Berlin just before Christmas. Really impressed – service minded people, not too expensive for a capital and good food, drink and culture.
