Seul, a special megacity

If you saw already Seul, you will say: this is a megacity. And a special one!

Activ, overcrowded, tumultuos. 50 percents from the population of South Korea lives in Seul, which is with its

22 000 000 inhabitants the world’s third megacity, behind Tokyo and Mexico City.

A huge city like this cannot be walked. Let us try a satellite photography:

Notice the river, please, as any megacity started developping on a river. For Seul it is the Han-Gang river. The living conditions in Seul are so favorable, that this area has been lived for 3000 years. Seul is the capital of Korea since 13th century, and many things happened in Seul! Japan occupation from 1880 to 1945, the division of Korea and the Korea war, economic booming after the war, to count only the most recent ones.

Seul has, despite its amazing dimensions, some quiet places.

Seul was host of the Olympic Games in 1988 and of the football Championships in 2002.

The climate is temperate, with big variations between summer and winter.

Best time for visiting Seul is spring and autumn. Right now, for example. You have a lot to see in Seul: museums, universities, open air ruins, parks, pavilions etc. Old and modern stay together realizing a wonderful sight.

You can eat almost anything in Seul. European foods, powered by the concerns, is expansive, having the same prices like in Europe. You can find also smaller restaurants on the streets, when you can( and must) try Bulgogi,Gimchi,Galbi( pieces of meat and sauce, very tasty).

Seul is picturesque sometimes, for the ones having the right eyes.
