Now that flights are become cheaper and more widely available there are a number of excellent budget holiday destinations that you can fly to from almost anywhere in Britain

1. Spain
Spain has been a popular British holiday destination for many years, and provides some well established, low priced package holidays that are perfect for families, couple or groups of friends. Spain has a lovely warm climate and miles of beautiful coastline and there are a whole host of self catering and all-inclusive resorts, hotels and villas to choose from. Spain has something to offer all types of visitors, from the lively nightclubs and bars of Ibiza, to the fine dining and excellent shopping facilities in the city of Barcelona. The Canary Islands have some of the best weather throughout the year and so make for a great destination for a winter sun getaway and there are any number of deals available through the main travel agents and online brokers for you to choose from.

2. Tenerife
Tenerife experiences almost year round sunshine, so makes an excellent holiday destination even in the winter and there are some great deals in the off peak seasons. Tenerife is a popular destination so there are also plenty of bargain holidays available during the busy seasons, and this island is ideal for sunbathing, water sports and relaxing on the beaches and beautiful coastline. Playa de las Teresita is a lovely spot with miles of golden, pristine sands that are perfect for families. The water is clear and safe and there are some excellent facilities in the surrounding area. Playa de las Americas is a busy, popular hotspot that has lots of restaurants, shops and nightclubs and is great for groups of friends that want to relax on the beach during the day and party hard at night. El Medano is perfect for those that love water sports, with some strong shore winds that make it a popular spot with windsurfers and paragliders.

3. Turkey

Turkey is a beautiful country, with some stunning beaches and a rich cultural heritage and although it is fast becoming a top holiday sun destination there are still a lot of cheap holidays available here. Turkey has something to offer all holiday makers, from the bustling city of Istanbul with its many shops and bazaars to the paradise beaches and waters of Antalya.

There is plenty of history for you to discover whilst you are away as well, with some fascinating ancient architecture such as ruined cities and fortresses and mainly spectacular holy buildings and mosques. Turkey has been the centre of some of the most influential ancient cultures in the world including the Byzantium and Trojan empires, and you can still see remnants of these historic cultures throughout the country, such as the ruins of the famous city of Troy, which was the site of the legendary decade long battle between the Trojans and the Greeks and featured in classic literature such as Homer’s Iliad.
