In its history the Tower of London has served many purposes from Royal Palace to the home of the Crown Jewels, but it is perhaps best known for its grisly history as a place of imprisonment, for those treasonous criminals awaiting execution.
* A cruise down the river Thames is a relaxing way to see London, and the short cruise on this tour takes you from Westminster to the Tower of London, passing many interesting sites such as Houses of Parliament, Shakespeare’s Globe theatre and the famous Tower Bridge.
