Samsung Unveiled SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 Camcorders

Samsung brings a broad range of award-winning, digital consumer electronics and home appliance products, including HDTVs, home theater systems, MP3 players, digital imaging products, refrigerators and washing machines. Recently they have announced their SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 Touch of Color Camcorders.

These new cameras come with a very unique design and both of them features a 10x optical zoon along with Hyper Image Stabilization, Active Angle lens to reduce fatigue by allowing consumers to grip the camcorder in a more relaxed manner.
Senior vice president of Audio/Video and Digital Imaging Marketing at Samsung Electronics America, Reid Sullivan said that the SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 are truly unique camcorders, starting with their eye-catching ToC design. In addition to being ultra-compact, ergonomic and stylish, these camcorders offer a host of advanced, yet easy-to-use capabilities that encourage consumers to integrate video recording into their everyday digital lifestyles.
Looking at the key features of both SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 they offer
SMX-C14
- 16 GB of internal Samsung flash memory
- Expandable SD/HDHC memory card slot
- 2.7 inch LCD screen
- H.264 compression
- Allows 6 hours of footage
Where as SMX-C10 does not offer internal memory and does require the use of SD/SDHC media. But just like SMX-C14 if offers substantial battery life which results in 160 minutes of record time on a single charge.

For better video recording experience Samsung offers several unique features including time-lapse recording, animate thumbnails and a versatile charing system. The main purpose of Time-lapse recording is to program the camcorder to record at a pre-set interval of one image every one, three, five, 10, 15 or 30 seconds. Time-lapse recording is especially useful for condensing extremely long events, such as rolling clouds on a sunny day, into a short, easy-to-view video.

Both cameras support play-edit-sharing program known as “intelli-Studio” which allows you to connect the camcorder to any computer using USB and edit/play videos without having to install any additonal software.
The Samsung’s SMX-C14 and SMX-C10 will be released in July 2009.

I am never ceased to be amazed at how fast the technology moves forward. 6 hours HD video on flash memory for a start
