Sony Ericsson is a top, global industry player with sales of around 97 million phones in 2008. They have just announced the launch of their two new GreenHeart eco-friendly mobile phones codename “C901 GreenHeart” and “Naite”. According to the company the C901 GreenHeart’s phone casing is made from a minimum of 50% recycled plastics. It is colored with waterborne paint that lowers exposure to Volatile Oranic Compounds.

Both C901 GreenHeart and Naite comes with a low power charger that reduces the overall CO2 footprint of the two point by at least 15%. In addition to that the GreenHeart will be bundled with the MH300 headset that is made up of 100% recycled plastics in 4 out of 5 hard plastic parts.

The new Sony Ericsson’s Greenheart features a WalkMate application, letting users really walk the talk about being more eco-friendly by comparing the steps they take with the equivalent journey traveled by car. On the other hand Naite has Ecomate application helping users make greener choices in their everyday life as well as a Carbon Footprint Calculator to show you how much CO2 you are saving when you walk instead of taking the car.
