Acer has announced the new Aspire timeline series notebook PC. The new Acer Aspire Timeline series mark the beginning of a new era in mobile computing, an era when you have more time to get things done, stay connected and enjoy entertainment.
Acer’s new notebooks are available in 13.3-inch (3810T), 14-inch (4810T) and 15.6-inch (5810T) models. One of the biggest attractive is the size of this machine. It measure as thin as 24mm and weighs as low as 1.6kg. I don’t know if we can compare it with the Mac book but it really is a beauty.

The Aspire Timeline is equipped with Intel’s ULV Core 2 Duo Su9400/ Core 2 Solo SU3500 processor and offers a Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card. It features up to 8GB of DDR3 ram and about 500GB hard drive or 80GB SSD storage. The Timeline series has Acer CineCrystal LED backlit display with 1366×768 resolution, webcam, and Dolby Sound Room and FineTip keyboard. They have built-in WiFi and WiMAX connectivity, and 3G/HSDPA is available as an option. According to Acer the new Aspire Timeline series consumes 33% less energy compare to typical notebooks saving you 1,752 watt per year.

My major concern is always the battery time. Since I blog full time and I just can’t in a room and work for 9 hours there. Sometimes I like to go out in the garden or may be in my living room where I can blog in peace. So when it comes to Acers new notebooks, the result is more than eight hours battery life, so that you don’t have to worry about running out of power in the middle of something important, and you have more time to learn, have fun and be productive.

Another big problem is the heating issue which makes your PC experience quiet miserable but I guess that is not what we’re going to see in the Aspire Series. Acer Aspire Timeline use a cooling technology designed to improve user experience. Developed in collaboration with Intel, Laminar Wall Jet exploits a technology that has been used successfully for cooling turbine blades. Through the addition of louvers to the inlet vents, the cooling air flow is redirected along the bottom side of the notebook chassis, putting fresh air precisely where it’s needed to better cool the skin.
The series will be available from $699 to $899. I think that seems like a pretty affordable price for something like this.

I must admit i am considering buying a laptop at the moment. What is the build quality like of the Inspire – do you have one? would you buy Acer in preference to say Dell. after all I am sure i could get very similar tech spec from different manufacturer.

Im using HP and Acer at the moment myself. But I honestly don’t think you can compare Acer to Dell. Acer is really good in terms on performance and specially battery time. It really last for long.
If you have enough money to spend on a laptop. Id definitely recommend Dell though..
