1. Elia beach, Mykonos

Mykonos is a pretty little island, with typical hilly Greek landscapes perfect for hiking and walking through. Elia beach is a beautiful little spot, with soft sand and good swimming waters. It is also a bit quieter than some of the other beaches in Greece, but there are still plenty of facilities and water sports activities.

Kefalonia is one of the larger Greek islands, and is famous for its fine olives and fantastic cooking. Myrtos is a gorgeous beach, with a huge stretch of golden sand which is surrounded on all side by wonderfully lush scenery. Psili Ammos is generally considered to be the best beach on Serifos, and it literally translates from the Greek into ‘soft fine sand’. This is a fantastic beach for sunbathers, and also has some good facilities such as cafes, restaurants and gift shops.

Maragas is a favourite with European tourists and there are some excellent camping facilities that are located out right next to the lovely sandy beach. The local town is pretty and full of cafes and bars, and there are some lovely walks around this area.

Santorini is a tiny island with a lovely rocky coastline full of marine life that is perfect for snorkelling trips. Red Beach is one of the most popular spots on the island, and gets it name from its reddish sand, and also the red and black volcanic rocks rising up from the shoreline. The sand is not very soft, so you will need to take towels or blankets to sit on.
