Tomorow is another hard long day and you ned to take a good rest! Repeat it to your self and the rest is half done!
First of all, if you did a lot of things and you are exhausted, you shall not encounter any problems.
Second, you need to keep in mind the folowing about the brain activity: there is a cycle of the cerebral function, which has minimum and maximum. Supposing you close your eyes for seconds on a minimum, you will be very well refreshed! Theoretically you dont need to sleep at all! But the practice is something different…
After all this introduction, supposing you want desperately to sleep, but you are not able to fall asleep. What to do? I have some some tips and tricks:
-count sheeps
-count bees or other insects
-take your favorite pillow all over world
-stay in darkness. If you need to go to toilet, keep your eyes half shut.
-use your favorite odour or smell, like lavander, obtained from oils
-read some difficult philosophy, e.g. Heidegger, Nietzsche , Platon
-take a little walk or do some light gym exercices

“Theoretically you dont need to sleep at all” I have a hard time believing this. I am not a doctor by any means, however how is that possible?

Whether you are spoiled, or you were never a hard worker. If you have the opportunity to travel to Japan, notice how many people fall asleep in public places! This is not banned as in Western Europe or America. They simply fall asleep when they feel necesary, even in public places. They follow the natural brain activity cycle. Maybe this the secret of their succes, it is the less sleeping nation I think. This the art of inaremi!
