I generally prefer to take the bus when I'm vacationing in Latin America. Costa Rica and Mexico have good bus systems. With that said, the road trips are a great part of the adventure. It's also a nice way to meet other travelers. Even with the seemingly "safe" roads, there are unexpected things (even on fairly busy thoroughfares) such as horses in the road that we just aren't used to in the US. Love the pictures.
