Las Vegas has been a popular tourist destination for decades, and in this rough economy, there has never been a better place to visit. With fewer consumer dollars going around, casinos and shops are pulling out all the tricks, much to your benefit. Here’s a pro-tip: subscribe to every single casino’s mailing list. They will frequently send you offers, so if you sign up for all of them, you’ll have a bunch of deals to choose from.

For instance Luxor recently sent out an email advertisement for $33/night, as well as additional coupons and suite credits. On the other end of the spectrum, Venetian frequently emails guests offers for $119 suites, as well as additional suite credits, slot credits, and bonus coupons. A spectacular deal, considering those suites are normally a minimum of $169 a night. And, should you be so lucky to be staying at the Venetian, you can have breakfast and one of the best value’s in town.

Bouchon is located on the 11th Floor of the Venezia tower, at the Venetian Casino resort. A Thomas Keller restaurant (of The French Laundry/Per Se fame), Bouchon is open for breakfast and dinner, and brunch on weekends. Bouchon has undoubtedly one of the best breakfasts in town. Period.

Everything from the delectable pastries to savory chicken and waffles, Bouchon is a morning treat for any tourist. However, the reason they get mentioned here is because of one sole item: the sourdough waffle. Now, this isn’t just any normal sourdough waffle: it’s a sourdough waffle with bananas candied walnuts, vermont maple syrup, a touch of powdered sugar, and tahiatian vanilla butter. The waffle is perfection, beautifully crusty on the outside while still being soft and light on the inside, combined with an array of condiments that when combined fuse into the perfect bite, whose sum is greater than it’s parts. Yeah, it’s that good, and at a mere $8.50, is the best value breakfast in town. Oh yeah, get a bloody marie while you’re there, if you like it spicy.

Another great idea if you’re looking for shows is to buy tickets on the day of. There are plenty of ticket vendors in Las Vegas selling half price tickets for many of Vegas’ hottest shows, including Cirque Du Soleil, Le Reve, and Blue Man Group. These vendors are given unsold tickets by the casinos, and in turn pass the savings onto the consumer. You can’t count on your favorite show being there, so go early for the best selection.

Finally, if clubbing is your type, even the clubs are having great deals. Not only can you find great deals online, getting you VIP entry into many of Vegas’ hottest clubs, you can get deals at the clubs themselves too. Of course, that doesn’t mean you won’t be spending a ton of money anyway. Many clubs are offering incentives to people who purchase bottle service. Now if you have enough friends, this might be a great idea; just don’t try to go it solo.

Of course, there’s a ton of free stuff to do in Vegas as well. Check out local sights, including Hoover Dam (dedicate a whole day), Laughlin, and even the outlet malls on the south and north end of Vegas. Don’t forget, there’s great Chinese food in Chinatown (yes, there’s a Chinatown in Vegas); you don’t have to suffer through food court chinese. The great thing about Vegas is that you can have a great time, no matter what your budget.
