1. Bora Bora

Bora Bora is one of the most beautiful islands in the French Polynesia, and its situation in the South Pacific Ocean guarantees year round sunshine and a stunning tropical landscape of sandy beaches and lush vegetation. This island is far away from the hectic pace of modern life, and there is a great feeling of seclusion and privacy which makes it the perfect romantic getaway. There are several top class hotels and resorts, including one or two that provide luxurious thatched bungalows that literally sit out over the balmy lagoon waters. There are also plenty of activities to keep you amused on Bora Bora, including some excellent diving sites, boat cruises and relaxing spas. The average temperature varies from around 70-80 degrees throughout the year, which makes it the perfect romantic winter get away.

2. The Maldives

The Maldives have been a popular tropical getaway for many years, and are known for their luxurious, world class accommodation and restaurants. There are some beautiful beaches on the islands, and plenty of different water activities to keep you occupied during the day including some wonderful cruises around the many secluded bays and beaches, as well as surfing, diving and fishing.

3. Maui

Maui is famous for its long stretches of stunning sandy beaches, and is one of the most beautiful of all the Hawaiian Islands with luscious tropical rainforests, crystal clear waters and a lovely tropical climate. Maui is a bit quieter and more exclusive than some of the other Hawaiian destinations, so it makes the perfect spot for a romantic holiday for two.

4. Fiji

It is hard not to fall in love with this beautiful South Pacific paradise, which combines stunning natural beauty with first class accommodation and facilities. Fiji is the site of the famous luxury resort and spa ‘Shangri-La’, and when you have finished relaxing and soaking in your surroundings you can go surfing, take a boat cruise or see some of the amazing marine life up close with snorkelling lessons.

5. Barbuda
Barbuda is one of the more private and relaxed Caribbean islands, and the quiet pace of life is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the company of your loved one. This small island is still largely undeveloped, and it has plenty of untouched wild and natural spaces, and is renowned for the diversity of its bird and marine life. There are some excellent opportunities to do a bit of wildlife spotting, and a trip to the Frigate Bird Sanctuary is a must, which is situated in the north west of the island and only accessible by boat.
