Well, Munich is home to a great deal of history. It is where the original Oktoberfest was held. In fact, they have had one for at least 200 years and continue to have them annually. If you can, try to go for the Oktoberfest. It take place in September each year and is the largest celebration of its kind. But if you’re not interesting in going to see The English Garden (before its physical remodeling), and you’re not interested in Oktoberfest, then you might be interested in the many museums. Oh, yeah. Munich is home to about forty-five museums. They would take you at least a week to go through…and that’s probably if you hurried.
What else does can a Munich vacation offer you?
A visit to their most famous beer joint, Hofbrauhaus where you can get a tasty drink and some fun entertainment. There’s also the Viktualienmarkt, which is a food market that is home to the most wonderful and tasty treats. If you are traveling with kids, the Hirshau biergarten has a great playground. In fact, from central Munich you can rent bikes to get there. Talk about a fun outing for the whole family.
If you’re really up for an adventure on your Munich vacation, then take a day trip on over to the Bavarian Alps. They are not too far away and you can take public transportation so it’s not necessary to rent a car. The Bavarian Alps offers a lot of fun in sporting and outdoor activities so go well rested because you’ll definitely get tired.
If you’d like to spend your vacation exploring fun little places, then Munich should definitely be a must-see. There are many attractions to be enjoyed day and night.
